Renoir was a French painter and was initially closely related to the Impressionist movement. His early works are typical impressionist works that record real life, full of dazzling brilliance. In 1864 he officially entered the salon exhibition with paintings. During this period, Renoir's sweet style of painting generally appeared, and he also focused on improving the painting of light and shadow on the water surface.


1870s-Participated in the Salon Lost Painting Exhibition and began to explain and promote the Impressionist School. During the Franco-Prussian War, he was arrested by the government as a spy. At this time, Renoir was not like Camille Pissarro, Gauguin and other painters walked away from the country, but stayed in Paris and painted many street life landscapes as records. These paintings were painted on large canvases, classic The ball at the Pancake Mill (Bal du Moulin de la Galette or Dance at "Mrs. Henri" Le Moulin de la Galette) was painted in 1876. The painting has a height of 1.30 meters and a width of 1.70 meters. It is currently in the collection of the Musée d’ Orsay in France.




Renoir painted another classic work from the 1880s to 1881: Luncheon of the Boating Party. But after this painting, he gradually gave up focusing on the production of light and shadow, and tended to a more flat depiction. During this period he also traveled to Spain, Italy and other countries, and got married and had children.


1890s-At this time Renoir has been regarded as a successful painter. In the atmosphere of enjoying family and happiness, he continues to paint and draws many charming family sketches.


1900s-Renoir was still diligent in his paintings in his later years. He painted a lot of nude women, bringing the soft visual touch to life.


1910s-Renoir ’s life finally saw his work hung in the Louvre,
